The Seed

We have only a few weeks left of winter. The seeds planted are beginning to blossom and grow. The imps are coming out, playing in our gardens, woods, and all the magickal mystical places they roam. We, too, likethe seeds will rebirth ourselves in Spring. How will this year's rebirth look like for you? Can you draw a picture of yourself, newly awakened after the winter's rest? Do a collage of the symbols you would like to create? Spring is traditionally marked the New Year for indigenous people. It is a birth, a regeneration, of you and your journey.

Birth, like every stage in life, consists of a letting go process. We must let go of the known to move forward. The seed must let go of its form to become a flower or a tree. It cannot stay a seed and be a magnificent oak. A soul must leave the omnipresent light to enter a body. The baby must leave the womb to enter our world. And yet you take each experience forward with you. Inside you exist all stages that have come before. Release attachment to the image of yourself as it stands today, knowing you are meant to evolve, to change. All stages are beautiful. The pain comes from holding on when its time to move forward.

It takes great courage and faith to let go. Perhaps you let go just to get a tighter grip? Sometimes I do. Once I asked God/dess during a particularly difficult transition in life how much I really needed to let go. I really still wanted to hold onto my images of how things were going to turn out instead of t rusting in Divine Love. And the message was that of the monkey bars. You know how you have to push off from one bar to the next to get across? I wasn't happy with that answer, but it was true. People don't let us down, our expectations do. As we reenter the season of light, remember to let go. Take that Nestee plunge. Take deep breaths, find your heart center, and unclench your fingers. As the earth rotates toward the sun, turn your face and body toward the light, open and ready for whatever comes.

All that you want is yours.
All that you have has been with you before, and
All that you have left behind will be the light to guide you through the darkness

Blessings,
Jamie
